Society's standards are fucked. If you're reserved and quiet, you're emo. If you're open and expressive, you're attention hungry. If you're a virgin by 16, you're doing something wrong. If you lose it by 16, you're a whore. If you don't compliment yourself, you're begging for compliments. If you do compliment yourself, you're full of yourself. If you're unique, you're weird. If you're "normal," you're boring. It's hard to find yourself in a world so centered around perfection, when in reality imperfection is what defines us.
No matter what time of the day morning, afternoon, night while your out having your own little adventure there is always that small chance of meeting someone who you haven’t talked to for awhile by locking your vision onto them for just that brief half second. Now as humans we try to assess the situation by giving a common greeting, provide basic conversation, also try to catch up on past times. But when the person you lock eyes with for that minimal amount of time ignores you and disapproves of your existence, wouldn’t that break something inside of you? With that in mind you begin to go through all the good and bad times you had together regardless if you were close with them or not. It’s as if time summons itself to create a delusional warp within you and once you’ve gone through all that your emotions come into play and decide whether you just brush the whole situation off or you unconsciously begin to grow a hate for them. Regardless of what choice you make you always pass by the person anyway feeling all dumb and giddy, then smacking yourself in the face at the end of day.
